A Texas Transformation
The General Store of Old
has been transformed into a tasting room and Home of 1900 Winery. The General Store offers premium wine tastings featuring our 100% Texas grown grapes as well as other select 100% Texas grown Hill Country wines. We offer a small bites faire to pair with our menu of wines. Coffee and tea are always available options. We display handcrafted jewelry, gorgeous art, novelty pieces from local artisans and local specialty food products and merchandise are available to purchase whether looking for souvenirs, a hostess gift, shopping for yourself or that special someone you’re sure to find a treasure and then… there’s always wine!
Our covered outdoor patio also has plenty of room to bring friends and family. Relax outside and let the day slip away enjoying our wine. Gather around our fire pit and watch the beautiful sunsets and count your lucky stars as they shoot across the big Texas night sky.

Prized Grapes
Here, everything comes from the heart.
When planting the vineyard in 2020, we started with Alicante Bouschet. Alicante (Heart of the Hills) Bouschet (A gift from God) This vine varietal was chosen in memory of Clinton Durst, a dear friend and member of the Art Community. According to son Ted Durst, this was said to be Clinton’s favorite varietal as this grape has a beautiful red fruit and the vines foliage in fall is a bright show me red.
Each varietal we bless in our soil is chosen with love in mind.
Texas Soil
On the edge of the Hickory Sands of Mason County, our land has been ranched by the family since 1879. This soil has grown crops and raised livestock to provide for our family for generations. Now our plans are to preserve this heritage for our future generations by raising a new crop on the land where our grandfather once grew his crops, establishing 1900 Vineyards.
A Bit of Love
LOVE is the reason at the Heart of Art: everything we do is inspired by the love in our hearts. When you find the love of your life, you plant roots, grow together, and that love comes to fruition in many ways. Here our love comes through in each glass of wine, a product of generations of heart and hard work on our family heritage ranch, blessed by a union of love to last a lifetime.
All in the Heart
Inspired by the love of my life, I designed a heart shaped vineyard to be planted in spring of 2020 of Alicante Bouschet vines. The Heart of Art is the show vineyard for 1900 Vineyard and is located in the Heart of Art, Texas.
